Last Respects Paid To Club Icon

This morning, Tuesday 20 July, a large crowd of club members, friends and associates lined each side of the road through Mountain Ash town centre to pay their last respects to Tom Pullman, who passed away suddenly a fortnight ago. He had been involved with Mountain Ash RFC for a total of 60 years as a player, coach, committee member, President, and Life Member.

As the funeral cortège came through the town centre on its way to Llwydcoed Crematorium, it slowed outside the clubhouse and was met with applause from the people present.

The Mountain Ash RFC Singers then sung Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer to send the cortège on its way.

Tom played scrum half for the Old Firm and captained the Mount 1st XV for 7 seasons in total, which was a record in the 20th century. He also played for Swansea against the 1969 Springboks and the Mid District Rugby Union on 23 occasions, quite a number of which were as captain. He was a respected former player and much-liked individual. He will be missed by many people and is a significant loss to the club. R.I.P. Tom.
