Mountain Ash and Bedwas 2nd XVs matched up at a picturesque Caedrawnant on a lovely, sunny day. Mount made the better start and had a good first 15 minutes, but Bedwas came back into it, so much so that they led 12-7 at half time. The Old Firm came back in the second half to eventually come out on top. The game was competitive throughout, though, and worth watching, with some good rugby played. Pleasing for Mount was the performance of 4 Youth XV players - No.8 Steffan Calderbank, centre Ethan Morris, scrum half Ethan Davies, and outside half Iestyn Robins. In total, the Old Firm scored 6 tries through wing Rhys Williams, centre Steve Brittain, flanker Jordan Howe, scrum half Ethan Davies, who also kicked a conversion, hooker Thomas Evans, and second row Chase Hunt. Outside half Iestyn Robins kicked 3 conversions.
