Well done to Mountain Ash RFC Under 12s who shared the Blues Plate with Rhiwbina Under 12s after a hard fought 19-19 draw in the final on Sunday 19 May at Cardiff Arms Park.
The game was a tough physical one from the start with Mountain Ash taking a 12-0 lead, outside half Owen Bailey scoring all the Young Firm’s points. Rhiwbina started to get frustrated and were lucky not to get a played sent to the sin bin for an off-the-ball incident, but they scored just before half time to reduce Mount’s lead to 12-5.
Rhiwbina started getting on top at the start of the second half and scored two converted tries to lead 19-12. But Mount were far from beaten and showed great determination, and with only two or three minutes left, outside half Owen Bailey scored a try and kicked the conversion to tie the scores at 19-19 and share the Plate.
Well done to all the players who took part over the season and to the coaches as well.
