The oldest derby game in the valleys will take place on Thursday 3 May when the Old Firm will take on Treorchy in the semi-final of the Mid District Cup at a neutral venue to be announced. The match was confirmed after Ystrad Rhondda dropped out of the competition because of injuries. Mount and Treorchy have played two close games this season in Division 1 East Central, Treorchy winning the two by 28 points to 23 in Mountain Ash and 15-10 in Treorchy. In both games, the Old Firm came close, and the team has improved as the season has progressed. Details of the venue will be made available as soon as it is known. Make sure you are there on the night to give the boys your support.
