A 29-5 win in Ynysybwl last Friday in the Mid District Cup by one of the youngest Old Firm teams to take the field for many a year was the heartening news that delighted everyone at Mountain Ash RFC last weekend. Five tries were scored in total in the win. Two young, up-and-coming backrow forwards Jordan Burke and Jordan Coxley, and centre Kieron Davies, who has improved throughout the season in the centre position, got one each, and wing Will Holley run in for two and also converted two. The win puts the Old Firm into the semi-finals of the Mid District Cup where they will play either Ystrad Rhondda or Treorchy on a neutral ground.
Next Saturday, 17 February, Mount are back in League action and travel to Porth. Kick off is 2:30pm.
