Clubhouse Reopening

Following Welsh Government guidelines, the Clubhouse is able to open. The Club does not ordinarily open for business on Mondays, so we will re-open for our customers as from 7pm on Tuesday 4th August.

A number of measures have been undertaken to ensure the safety of our patrons. Our simple, polite request is that every person who uses the Club, does so in a responsible and respectful manner. As mentioned on other media, the Club will not feel and sound like what we’ve become accustomed to, but we would like to think that this period of time, although uncertain, will soon be a thing of the past. In the meantime, we want club patrons to feel safe within the clubhouse and to enjoy themselves in the company of others.

We are a Rugby Club, and we all know that the antics of rugby players can sometimes defy logic (the writer is up there with the best) however, the Officers and the Management Committee want to assure all club users that irresponsible behaviour will not be tolerated. Unacceptable levels of behaviour will lead to the inevitable expulsion for those responsible...and for some considerable time.

The Club’s opening hours are as follows:-
Tuesday       7pm til 10pm
Wednesday  7pm til 10pm
Thursday      7pm til 10.30pm
Friday            2pm til 11pm
Saturday       2pm til 11pm
Sunday         12pm til 10pm

We are mindful of the location of the clubhouse in relation to residents. We have engaged positively with our near neighbours and want them to have the necessary peace of mind that the re-opening of the club will not be viewed as a breach of their right to normal levels of peace and quiet.

There will be no entry to the clubhouse after 10pm. Entry is through the double doors at the rear of the clubhouse. An external security company will be present on the door on the weekend.

The names and contact details of everyone entering the clubhouse will be recorded to enable us to adhere to the directives on Test, Track and Isolate requirements.

We are operating on reduced hours, but more importantly, we are also operating on a significantly reduced capacity. It is with this in mind, that we are asking for club membership to be paid on the first occasion anyone enters the club. Committeemen will be on hand to take membership fees and to issue membership cards. Membership for season 2019/20 ceased on July 31st and new, or renewed membership will run from August 1st 2020 until August 31st 2021 (13 months). We are hopeful that everyone understands the need to insist on payment of membership (no-one wants to be refused entry in the knowledge that there are non-members sat inside, do they?). Membership for adults is £5.00 each and membership for Senior Citizens is £2.00 each. (Please note that for club membership purposes a Senior Citizen is 65 years old). Those who, for some reason, refuse to pay membership, will not be welcome, naturally.

The Club’s Lucky 4 Draw remains in abeyance for the time being. More details will be posted on this soon.

The Club’s Management Committee looks forward to welcoming you all back.
