The Young Firm travelled to Cowbridge with an injury affected squad and expecting a tough game, but the players which pulled on the famous black and amber jersey of the Old Firm were fantastic, and came away with a 20-14 win.

Mount dominated the first half and nearly scored after 5 minutes. A fantastic run by Captain Cameron Davies from his own 22 saw the No.8 link up with back Morgan James who was just caught 5m out. After the Mount forwards won ball, outside half Ethan Conway put in a deft kick forward for Morgan James to gather and score the first try of the afternoon. Although the Young Firm had dominated the game, Cowbridge took the lead with a try from a driving maul, which was converted, to go in front 7-5. Mount continued to dominate and from a scrum in the Cowbridge 22, forward Mitchell Barnard bulldozed his way over for a fantastic try which was converted to make it 12-7 to the Young Firm at half time. 

In the second half, the Cowbridge backs had little ball to work with, but what they had in the first quarter they used very effectively, making countless breaks from their own line and eventually scoring a try, which, although it had a hint of obstruction in it, was given and then converted, for Cowbridge to lead 14-12.

The Young Firm finished strongly and continued dominating the game. After a quick tap penalty, scrum half Morgan Cartwright broke down the wing to take play deep into Cowbridge territory. After a succession of forward drives, Cartwright surged forward and cut inside where he off loaded to second row Kellan Williams for him to finish off a fine move and score in the corner. Although the try went unconverted, it put Mount back in the lead, 17-14. It was up to Morgan James to seal victory with a penalty which made the final score 20-14 to the Young Firm.
